I purchased this tv about 2 weeks ago to replace a 42 inch Panasonic plasma. There are a fate of peachy things near this tv, but the one thing that matters about – the flick – was a large disappointment. The purpose and features of this tv are great. Internet worked actually well, menus are nicely laid away and I loved the large screen. If you reckon the tv directly on, the picture is excellent, but if you ride the slightest act conk meat it washes away quickly. Negroid layers got terrible, screen uniformity issues got glaring (flashlighting and vertical banding) and colors (particularly flesh tones) are poor. Watching an episode of American Horror Level UN65D8000 was a nightmare. I exchanged this tv for the PN64D8000 plasma and am much happier. The plasma film is not quite equally bright, only the pass heart reckoning and colors are far superior. For me, better smutty levels and color are more important than spectacularly bright whites. The plasma has a far superior picture.
